Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja who was arrested in Mumbai for alleged raping his domestic help, has been remanded to three-day police custody on Monday.
The actor was produced in Andheri court. He has been booked for rape under Section 376 and also charged under Section 339 for wrongful restraint and Section 506 for threatening another person.
On Sunday night Ahuja's domestic help launched a complaint alleging she was raped by the actor.
The preliminary medical report of the 18-year-old victim reportedly suggest that she was sexually abused. Ahuja has also been sent for medical examination.
The incident allegedly happened at the actor’s home in Mumbai’s Oshiwara area. Police say the victim was employed at Ahuja’s home for the past one and a half month.
The 36-year-old actor has acted in 13 movies and is popular for his work in films like - Gangster, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Life In A Metro.
He has also been known for his temperamental nature on film sets and this controversy may put roadblocks in his film career.
Ahuja is the son of an Army commander and is married to Anupam Auja. They have a two-year-old daughter also.
